Terms

Booking and hire terms.

Plain version first: tell us early if plans change, bring ID, and the numbers on your confirmation are the numbers that apply.

1. Who we are

These terms apply to bookings and private hire at Cabo London, 5 Minories, London EC3N 1BJ. Questions about them go to hello@cabolondon.com.

2. Table bookings

Holding a table

A booking is confirmed when we send you a confirmation, and not before. Where a deposit or pre-authorisation is required, the table is held once that has gone through. The amount is shown before you pay and is set by the date and the size of the table.

Arriving

Tables are held for a short grace period after the booked time, stated on your confirmation. If you are running late, call the venue — we will hold it where the room allows. On a busy night a table that has not arrived inside the grace period may be released.

Numbers

Tell us if your party grows or shrinks. We may not be able to seat more people than you booked for, and where a minimum spend applies it does not reduce because fewer of you came.

Changing or cancelling

Let us know as early as you can and we will move or cancel without charge. Inside the notice period on your confirmation we may keep some or all of a deposit, because the table has been held and other bookings turned away. Deposits paid against a booking come off your bill on the night.

No-shows

A table that does not arrive and does not call may lose its deposit, and where we took a card pre-authorisation we may charge a no-show fee up to the amount disclosed when you booked.

3. Private hire

Quotes and confirmation

Hire is confirmed when we have your signed or emailed acceptance of our quote and the deposit has cleared. The quote states which part of the room you have, the access and finish times, the minimum spend or hire fee, and what is included. The quote wins over anything said in conversation.

Deposit and balance

The deposit holds the date and comes off the final bill. The balance is due on the night unless we have agreed invoice terms with you in writing in advance. Payment links we send are processed by Stripe; we do not see or hold your card details.

Moving or cancelling a hire

Cancellation charges step up as the date gets closer, on the scale set out in your quote. We will always try to move a date rather than lose it, subject to availability. If we have to cancel — for something outside our control, or because the premises cannot safely open — we refund everything you have paid and that is the limit of what we owe.

Numbers, timings and overrun

Final numbers are due by the date in your quote. Guests beyond the agreed capacity may be refused. Running past your finish time is charged at the overrun rate in your quote where we are able to allow it at all.

Suppliers, décor and damage

Tell us about any DJ, caterer, photographer or supplier in advance; we may ask for their insurance. Nothing may be fixed to walls, ceilings or fittings without our agreement. No open flames, no confetti cannons, no glitter. You are responsible for damage caused by your guests or suppliers and we will charge the cost of putting it right.

4. In the venue

  • Over 18s. Photo ID is asked for every time, whatever your age.
  • We refuse entry or ask people to leave where behaviour, intoxication or dress makes that necessary. Where we do, we will tell you why.
  • No drugs, no weapons, no filming other guests without their agreement. We work with the police and licensing on all three.
  • CCTV operates throughout for the safety of guests and staff and is kept in line with our privacy notice.
  • Last entry is one hour before close. Drinks must be finished by the time the licence requires.
  • Items left behind are kept for 14 days.

5. Service charge and bills

A discretionary service charge is added to table bills and hire accounts at the rate shown on the menu and your quote. It is discretionary: ask and we will take it off. Service charge is distributed to the team that worked the session.

6. Food, drink and allergies

Tell us about allergies and intolerances before you order. We handle nuts, gluten, dairy, sesame, shellfish and other allergens in a single kitchen and bar, so we cannot promise any dish or drink is free of traces. Menus change; what is written online may not be what is on that day.

7. Events and listings

Line-ups, timings and listed events can change. Where an event is cancelled by us, tickets bought from us are refunded. Where a listed DJ or act does not appear, the event is still the event and tickets are not refundable on that basis alone.

8. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the booking or hire in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Your information

We use booking and enquiry details to run your booking, contact you about it, and keep the records we are required to keep. We do not sell your details. Marketing only goes to people who asked for it, and every message has an unsubscribe link. See our privacy policy for the full picture.

10. Complaints

Tell a manager on the night if you can — most things can be put right while you are still in the room. If that is not possible, email hello@cabolondon.com and we will reply within five working days.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
